North East of India is very well known for her ecstatic beauty. Arunachal Pradesh forms the edge of the northeastern side of India. Dambuk is a humble village of Arunachal sited along the famous Dibang valley.
This village is renowned for its big juicy oranges. Dambuk has orange orchards covering hectares of land which appends its beauty during winter harvests. The main occupation here is orange farming.
Ever year Dambuk hosts OFADM(Orange Festival of Adventure and Music) to affirm her hardworking farmers and to open the unplumbed beauty of northeast to rest of the world.
The orange festival is a 4-day fun festival of music, arts, dance, and games. Cultural performances of the local tribes, orange eating competitions, local tribal house building, orange picking, and forest walks are supplements to the prestigious orange festival. Local food stalls and handicrafts stalls allow us to the feel and flavor of this village. Above everything, you get to eat some freshly plucked oranges.
Arunachal is home to over 26 major ethnic tribes and 125 sub-tribes. Every tribe has a unique lifestyle with mixed customs, rituals, attires and even dialect, festivals like this remind us how beautifully diverse our country is.
Every year people from different parts gather here to celebrate the diversity, music, sports, and aroma of some fresh oranges-Mind
